That leaves the guided options. A four-hour Museum Island tour includes a day ticket for all the museums, plus three guided sessions of 45 minutes each at the Bode-Museum, the Pergamon Panorama, and the Neues Museum. A two-hour private tour works differently: it's a walk around the island and through the entrance halls, and full museum admission isn't included. What "no queuing" really means here
The phrase raises a false expectation. There is no second, secret entrance on Museum Island. Everyone goes through the James-Simon-Galerie, and everyone goes through the security check. What a pre-booked time slot saves you is the ticket-counter queue and the risk that your preferred slot is sold out — on a busy Saturday afternoon, that's not nothing. What it doesn't save you is the minutes at the entrance and the crowds in the North Dome Room. Cancelling, rebooking, letting it lapse
It's worth a closer look here, because the offerings behave differently. The plain admission ticket for the Neues Museum is non-refundable. So only book it once the date is fixed. The same applies to the Museum Island day pass. The guided offerings and the ticket with digital tour, by contrast, can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the start. If your travel plans are still up in the air, that's the one solid difference between the options.
Don't book the time slot for the last half hour before closing. The museum closes at 6pm, and you should allow at least 45 minutes for the highlights — more on that under how much time you need.
